Experience, play, enjoy, entertain and learn at Garden World! Our magnificent gardens provide an ideal backdrop for a learning experience.
We are all continually in a cycle of learning about Nature and how to fully reap the rewards of her plethora of offerings. At Garden World, we offer two ways in which you can take the opportunity to learn about gardening - learning for yourself by attending our unusual courses or by providing your children with an opportunity to learn too using our Edutainment offering! Send your children to our farm and let them learn hands-on about animals in their natural surrounds.
‘Edutainment’ is our word for combining fun and learning! At Garden World we offer the opportunity to experience a ‘hands-on’ animal adventure.
We have many types of animals: miniature horses, donkeys, pigs, goats, sheep, ostriches, guinea pigs, ducks, geese and poultry.
So many suburban children have never had the opportunity to experience ‘hands-on’ contact with animals. We have trained and nurtured our animals to be ‘people friendly’. It is an accepted fact that animals are of therapeutic value to children (and adults).
We present facets of agriculture to the children who visit us, according to the age of the child. The children have great fun playing with the animals while gaining education. They are guided and provided with a learning experience, as well as knowledge of animal lore.
Give your children the magic of touching, loving and feeling tame farm animals. This is a fascinating experience for toddlers, pre-primary and primary school children. School, Scout, Sunday school and all other groups are most welcome.
At Garden World we offer children a variety of educational outings:
Programs 1 and 2 offer a ‘Hands-on’ animal experience, teaching children about farm animals and providing them with a wonderful learning experience.
Program 3 is a ‘Hands-on’ planting experience teaching children the importance of growing plants for food and other purposes eg. Aesthetic reasons, etc. This programme is most appropriate as Garden World is a Garden Centre with its own plant growing facilities.
We present the facets of agriculture to the children who visit us - according to the age and development of the child. The children have great fun while gaining education. All the programs are supervised and provide a learning experience where the children gain knowledge of plant and animal lore.
Give your children the magic of touching, loving and feeding tame farm animals. Truly a fascinating experience for toddlers, pre-primary and primary school children. School, Scout, Sunday School and all other groups are most welcome.
All programmes are presented in English and Afrikaans. For other languages, interpretation by your teachers, combined with our visual materials and role play, these programmes can benefit all children regardless of their home language.
